Rodney Clawson

Rodney Clawson was born country, farming corn and wheat with his father on the family farm in Gruver, Texas. Trading the tractor for the pen, Rodney now makes his living as a songwriter in Nashville.

Named Songwriter of the Year by both NSAI and BMI, Rodney has had many, many songs on Billboard’s Country Chart — I Saw God Today (George Strait), Drunk on You, Crash My Party (Luke Bryan), Drink on It, Sure Be Cool if You Did (Blake Shelton), Where I Come From (Montgomery Gentry), Feel Like a Rock Star (Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw), One Of Those Nights, Southern Girl (Tim McGraw) and Get Your Shine On and Round Here (Florida Georgia Line).

So what does Rodney do when he’s not writing the next big hit? He hits the Bass Angler Tournament trail , including ribs, salmon, steak, and chicken.
